SUMMARY:
- The Lead Product Engineer at Strattec will lead the design and engineering development of electro-mechanical products for various automotive closure systems.
- Need to have experience in designing, engineering and developing electro-mechanical devices.
- Power sliding door actuators, power deck-lid actuators, power lift-gate actuators, power side door actuators and power running board actuators are among the products that will be developed.
- The above electro-mechanical actuators may include motors, clutches, gearboxes, injection molded plastics, powdered metal components, stampings, roll formed components, extrusions and castings.
- The lead product engineer will be supported by various other engineers in the group. This team of engineers will develop the entire drive unit mechanism for the power closure system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for product design, engineering and development of assigned programs.
- Leads multi-disciplined design reviews on programs assigned.
- Maintains BOM on assigned products.
- Coordinates prototype builds on assigned programs, including development of prototype build control plan.
- Works closely with manufacturing engineers and purchasing on component procurement.
- Represents Strattec in weekly Program Development Team meetings with customer.
- Utilizes the Strattec Program Development Process (PDP) for program implementation.
- Periodic travel required (~10%).
