Summary:


We are seeking a high-performing Director of Sourcing with a proven track record in OEM or Tier 1 automotive procurement. This role is critical to developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives, driving supplier performance, and delivering cost and value optimization across our global supply base. The ideal candidate operates with urgency, thrives under pressure, and works independently to deliver results that support both operational and commercial objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement strategic sourcing strategies for OEM components and manufacturing commodities across global operations in both direct and indirect sourcing groups.
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships with a focus on performance, quality, cost containment, and innovation.
  • Drive RFQ execution, contract negotiations, and total cost of ownership analysis with urgency and independence.
  • Identify and deliver cost savings opportunities through supply base consolidation, dual sourcing, and value engineering.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Operations to support new product launches, cost reduction, and risk mitigation.
  • Serve as the procurement escalation point for OEM and Tier 1 customer programs.
  • Champion the development and implementation of supplier performance KPIs, risk analysis, and business continuity plans.
  • Manage a cross-functional purchasing team and develop talent aligned with business needs.
  • Define strategic sourcing strategy to mitigate Tariff and other outside business risks.
  • Develop strategic sourcing strategy to support future business growth
  • Develop a culture of service and support, and drives the spirit of ownership and execution
  • Experienced in leading teams, with the ability to lean in to guide and grow capabilities
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to develop a pipeline for future projects.
  • Supports cross functional departments with supplier negotiation, contract execution, purchase requisition training for direct material spend.
  • Drives cross-functional project implementation, controls, and training for direct material sourcing activities, as well as providing related corporate-wide communication and direction.
  • Analyze current spend and find areas to improve service, reduce costs, and streamline purchasing procedures

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business (Master’s a plus)
  • At least 10 years of experience in procurement in a manufacturing environment
  • At least 5 years of team leadership
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing sourcing strategies independently
  • Proven ability to drive results with urgency, accountability, and minimal supervision
  • Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of automotive cost structures
  • Experience working with MRP systems, EDI, and global supply networks
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
  • Experience in Procurement managing a multi-site manufacturing and multi-cultural international team and supply base in low-cost regions.
  • Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to use a structured approach to understand, analyze and solve complex problems / issues
  • Bilingual – Spanish, English a plus
