SUMMARY

Responsible for the strategic oversight and management of enterprise IT applications, including ERP and other critical business applications, at STRATTEC Security Corporation. This encompasses Application Portfolio Management (APM) practices to evaluate, optimize, and align the application landscape with business priorities. The role oversees the development and maintenance of application roadmaps, ensures systems stay current with industry advancements, and maintains a deep understanding of each application's impact on operations, while upholding reliability, performance, and security in support of organizational goals.

 

Central to this position is the maintenance of a comprehensive enterprise application inventory, with particular attention to critical business systems, to assess the organization’s existing software landscape. The IT Applications Manager will work closely with business units to identify functionality gaps and overlaps within the application portfolio, ensuring that technology investments directly support strategic business goals.

 

The IT Applications Manager at STRATTEC Security Corporation is pivotal in defining, implementing, and maintaining policies and best practices that guarantee the reliability, security, efficiency, and strategic alignment of all ERP and business applications throughout the organization.


This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Conduct gap analysis of existing teams’ skill sets and recommend training plans and courses
  • Develop and coach team members at all locations to perform common application and operational support tasks
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery, business continuity and business application impact strategies
  • Oversee the development, deployment, and optimization of enterprise software applications to support key business processes
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into application solutions that align with organizational strategy
  • Direct and coordinate the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new enterprise applications, ensuring proper integration with existing systems
  • Monitor application performance and resolve issues to maintain high availability, reliability, and security
  • Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, service-level agreements, and ongoing performance reviews for application providers
  • Lead efforts to standardize and document application architecture, configurations, and workflows across the enterprise
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies and best practices to enhance application capabilities and user experience
  • Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements in all application-related activities
  • Manage application-related budgets, forecasts, and resource allocations to meet both short-term and long-term organizational objectives
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure end users and IT staff are proficient in the use and support of enterprise applications
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with application lifecycle management, ensuring robust backup, recovery, and incident response plans are in place

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Will provide leadership to IT staff across the enterprise

 

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  In depth knowledge of emerging technology, team building, team management. Professional and Project Management Certifications preferred.  Strong understanding of manufacturing business.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 

 

STRATTEC has a significant presence in Mexico; proficiency in writing and speaking Spanish is a plus

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Knowledge in Microsoft tools and certifications, Project Management, Program Management, Cloud, Engineering, Manufacturing, Lean & Six Sigma is not required but considered an advantage.
