Responsibilities

SUMMARY

Entry level Customer Service Representative Position. Requires basic to mid knowledge and experience with regards to understanding and executing the Customer Support function at STRATTEC. Handles typically Tier 2 and 3 Customers (Non-OEM accounts), or accounts that represent a minor business portion for an OEM Customer. Employee must demonstrate the ability to perform all related duties independently and with limited supervision before advancing to the Customer Service Representative position.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains favorable contact with current and potential customers.
  • Manages customer product orders, from order entry to delivery at the customer’s plant.
  • Analyzes reasonableness of customer demand, to determine over/under demand errors or demand in excess of quoted capacity, and takes appropriate corrective action.
  • Develops and coordinates a shipping plan, plan changes, and recovery plans.
  • Reviews STRATTEC product inventories in customer’s plants as required by each specific Customer, to detect daily demand changes.
  • Has complete understanding of each customers delivery expectations, including scheduling, releasing and receiving systems, including shipped versus received quantities reconciliation, Releases (830, 850, 862, etc.), and ASN’s transmission
  • Maintains all current records and necessary historical data accurately for all products.
  • Initiates and executes model change coordination with Customers and the Plants, to avoid   inventory obsolescence, and initiates claims with Customers as applicable.
  • Reviews weekly/monthly Delivery scores. Analyzes, finds root causes of delivery issues, and correct shipping discrepancies between STRATTEC and customer records.
  • Manage effectivity dates for product changes with Production Control Inventory Analyst.
  • Approve freight debit notes, and requests PFA’s/AETC’s when applicable.
  • Dispute debit notes, with supporting documentation to the customer.
  • Participates in customer provided trainings, product launch meetings, etc.
  • Visit on site customer plant schedulers for the purpose of relationship building, problem resolution and value creation.
  • Participate in problem solving sessions, and attend regularly scheduled team meetings at the Manufacturing Plants.
  • Advise product business team of customer service delivery issues, particularly problems whose solution is team related. Elevates potential delivery major issues to the Management team 
  • Maintains and follows Safety and Housekeeping practices to maintain a Safe and Clean work environment
  • Supports and Participates in Training activities, Physical Inventories, and other Company sponsored events, to maintain and elevate the skills sets of the group
  • Any other activities and assignments related to the job as deemed necessary by the Supervisor 

 

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 4-Year College Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or related area or a combination of Education and Experience
  • Minimum 2-Year experience in Customer Support related position  in the Automotive Industry, or 2 years in comparable position
  • APICS CPIM or Principles Training Preferred
  • Basic understanding of the MRP/ERP Systems, AS400 Based preferable
  • Basic Concepts of Lean Manufacturing and Problem Solving Techniques
