SUMMARY

Provides human resource support to managers, production supervisors and other talent support staff while maintaining good employee relations with all associates.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Welcomes and conducts 1-2 day onboarding program for new hires, temps and contractors, including initial paperwork and enrollment coordination, I-9 verifications.  Coordinates with Benefits, Safety and other areas to be sure all required elements of orientation are covered. Answers employee questions and hands off to the hiring manager.  Adds employee photos to Dayforce. 
  • Assists in employment activities such as interview scheduling, creation of employment packets, making candidate travel arrangements as needed. As needed, assists with background checks, Social Security verifications and may arrange pre-placement physicals and drug screens. Verifies the new hire file is complete and required information entered in the payroll system. 
  • Maintains the monitor system with updates and needed information, welcome slides for new employees.
  • Prepares annual wellness reimbursements. 
  • Assists with employment and compensation audits as needed. 
  • Maintains job description database and hard copies.  Audits job descriptions against current job titles to be sure a job description exists for every job title in use.
  • Tracks coop and interns ins and outs as well as keeps hourly pay rates.
  • Maintains ID badge system, making new ID’s for new employees and replacements.  Also handles the processing of payment for remote gate openers and issues as requested. 
  • Responsible for communication and control of discounts: Museum and zoo passes, car discounts, etc.
  • Management of FMLA and STD programs with vendors.  Follows up on questions from vendor as well as employees.   
  • Maintains service award gift programs and follows up with vendor, associates and manager as needed.  Recommends changes in gift selections and program as needed.
  • Creates special and regular reports upon request and schedule such as monthly headcount, birthday/anniversary reports, maintenance report, STRATOSPHERE, etc.
  • Coordinates special events such as Milestone anniversary lunches, etc. 
  • Maintains bulletin and photo boards in Milwaukee along with federal and state legal compliance posters in all US facilities. 
  • Administers the recognition gift card program, including recordkeeping for payroll. 
  • Maintains associate and medical records.
  • Responsible for password resets and Dayforce assistance for employees. 
  • Processes and tracks tuition reimbursement requests for Milwaukee, Detroit and El Paso as required. 
  • Maintains salaried associate training records on ongoing basis. 
  • Tracks and distributes attendance warnings as needed.  Records attendance call-in’s in Sierra.
  • Backs up others in the department as needed. 
  • Assists with projects as necessary.

Qualifications

Requirements:

High school diploma required, but college education is preferred.

Excellent communication, customer service and writing skills

Detail orientation

Previous HR coordination experience preferred

Previous experience using HRIS systems such as Dayforce, MS Office products

Excellent organizational skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and excellent interpersonal skills

Spanish language skills preferred
