  • Responsibilities


    Provides human resource support to managers, production supervisors and other human  resource staff  while maintaining good employee relations with all associates.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    Processes and tracks tuition reimbursement requests for Milwaukee, Detroit and El Paso as required.  Maintains salaried associate training records on ongoing basis.


    Records and enters new hire employee information such as personal data, compensation, performance reviews or evaluations into the human resource information systems (Ceridian).  Enters salaried pay changes, department, supervisory changes and verifies those changes against payroll.  Enters timekeeping data changes.


    Assists with attendance software as needed.


    Assists in other employment activities such as interview scheduling, creation of employment packets, making candidate travel arrangements as needed. As needed, assists with background checks, Social Security verifications and may arrange pre-placement physicals and drug screens.


    Conducts new hire orientation, including initial paperwork and enrollment coordination, I-9 verifications.  Coordinates with Benefits, Safety and other areas to be sure all required elements of orientation are covered. Answers employee questions and hands off to the hiring manager.   Verifies the new hire file is complete and required information entered in the payroll system.


    Maintains job description database and  hard copies.  Audits job descriptions against current job titles to be sure a job description exists for every job title in use.


    Issues weekly FML report to supervisors and managers.


    Annually, conducts background checks to comply with legal export/import certification requirements, conducts annual automotive allowance insurance audits, annually conducts driver license checks on associates who use company vehicles, prepares audit information for Sarbanes Oxley and financial audits.


    Tracks coop and interns ins and outs as well as keeps hourly pay rates current.


    Administers Ceridian Self-Service:  verifies changes in Self Service to tie to payroll records, assists employees in learning the system as well as administers password changes and lock-outs.


    Maintains ID badge system, making new ID’s for new employees and replacements.  Also handles the processing of payment for remote gate openers and issues as requested.



    Maintains service award gift programs and follows up with vendor, associates and manager as needed.  Recommends changes in gift selections and program as needed.


    Coordinates special events such as Milestone anniversary lunches, etc.


    Responsible for selection of and administration of bereavement and new baby gift programs.


    Communicates and  manages employee discount programs.


    Maintains bulletin and photo boards in Milwaukee along with federal and state legal compliance posters in all US facilities.


    Keeps communication monitors current and relevant.


    Maintains associate and medical records.


    Manages the Lands End jacket program.


    Backs up others in the department as needed.


    Assists with projects as necessary.





    • Associate degree or equivalent, plus at least 2 years experience in previous HR support role.
    • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Must be proficient using Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Must be well organized and accurate.
    • Experience with HR recordkeeping, data entry, payroll preferred.
    • Previous experience with staffing, recruiting, onboarding helpful.
    • Must have good "people" skills and attention to detail.
    • Must be able to "multi-task" and handle a high volume of detail while providing excellent customer service.
