    The Continuous Improvement Manager position will be a change agent within the organization.  This individual will help our transformation into a lean culture with full support of senior management.  The primary responsibility is to identify areas for process and organizational improvement and collaborate with other departments to implement sustainable solutions.  The Continuous Improvement Manager will need to use lean principles and best practices to eliminate waste and capture additional value within operations.  Operational areas include zinc die casting, metal stamping, plating, assembly and inspection.  This position will be a 5s champion, and will also focus on training others in lean principles and continuous improvement methodology.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


    • Develop and sustain 5s/6s program
    • Utilize lean practices such as KANBAN, SMED, value stream mapping and other strategies to eliminate waste and improve productivity and safety
    • Create standard work procedures
    • Work in cross-functional teams including engineering, operations and quality to implement sustainable improvements
    • Plan and facilitate Kaizen events
    • Refine internal auditing programs to ensure new initiatives and programs are sustained
    • Establish and communicate key metrics for use in decision making and performance tracking
    • Communicate and collaborate with counterpart in Mexican operations to leverage existing corporate standards and goals
    • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
    • Conduct continuous improvement related training events

    This position will be required to have supervisory responsibilities as the Continuous Improvement department develops.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.





    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • Minimum of five (5) years Lean Manufacturing experience
    • Minimum two (2) years management or supervisory experience
