Test Operations Technicians will perform engineering evaluation, design validation and product or process verification testing on products or components received from internal or external customers under the guidance and direction of the Lab Manager.
Test Equipment Technicians perform tasks involving the build, maintenance, modification and repair of electrical and mechanical test equipment and test systems.
Successful candidates must understand safety practices, machine operation and repair, metallurgy, electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, blueprint reading, motor and logic controls, transformers, electrical codes and how to interpret schematics. At a Technician II level the Technician has experience with at least one product line and is able to assist others with set-ups and test monitoring. The Technician II will be learning additional product lines. They will also be able to actively assist with trouble-shooting and are able to work with limited supervision.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
One year certificate from college or technical school; with one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Lead Technician for at least one product category and experience with more than one.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to document problem solving efforts and contribute to problem solving reports.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

While certificates and licenses are not required for entry-level positions, they are recognized and recommended as on-going education and experience.
