Responsibilities

Overall management of the El Paso Distribution Center Operation, including management of the resources and processes in a productive and cost efficient manner.  Manage and meet departmental budgets and deadlines.  Provide training and guidance for the staff  under his/her responsibility.  Develop and reward employees.  Interact efficiently with all SSC internal and external customers.  Meet and exceed customer requirements and drive continuous improvements for all EPDC related process (shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy, TS/ISO audits, SOX compliance, etc.).

 

JOB DESCRPTION

  • Maintain inventory accuracy in all areas of the warehouse, (in shipping and receiving) and perform cycle counts.
  • Develop and implement departmental procedures.
  • Review current EPDC value stream and update TS/ISO and SOX procedures and controls accordingly.
  • Organize staff and assign responsibilities in accordance with organizational chart and job descriptions.
  • Implement performance measurable for shipping/receiving and inventory accuracy.
  • Identify Process Improvement/Cost reduction in EPDC processes and procedures and drive for the improvements.
  • Provide the required resources and training needed in order for the El Paso personnel to do their job efficiently.
  • Participate in the EPDC departmental budget (equipment and expenses) in coordination with Finance in a yearly basis.
  • Attend all El Paso distribution related meetings, visits, etc. and keep El Paso staff informed of most relevant activities and projects in the organization.
  • Interact with internal Strattec customers/supplier within the same department and other SSC facilities (SMO1 and SMO 2- MKE- DSO). Travel when necessary to customer sites or intra company facilities.
  • Training and development of associates, including performance appraisal.

Qualifications

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
  • Must have prior warehouse supervisory and distribution/logistics management experience in the automotive industry
  • Experience with AS400 preferred.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing preferred.
  • APICS certification preferred (CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD).
  • Must be self-motivated and a good communicator with excellent problem solving skills.  Must be a team player.
  • Experience communicating directly with OEM Customers. Excellent Negotiating skills
  • Understand Customer Releasing Systems (Ford, GM, FCA, Honda), and Customer Specific Shipping requirements 
  • Leadership skills to guide EPDC to improve
  • Ability to communicate  efficiently and fluently to a group of people

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or related field, from an accredited University required.
  • Must have Microsoft Office skills, Word, Strong Excel skills, Visio, Power Point,  ability to graph and present data
  • Understand use of Statistics to derive information from large data files 
  • Previous experience in automotive industry warehouse and logistics management
