Responsibilities

Promotes Company products into the customer organization.

Interface between STRATTEC technical staff , suppliers, and OEM customer.  Technical support for internal manufacturing locations and customer assembly plants. Lead regional and global product development activities. Assist Program managment in monitoring project Timing and progress.

 

  • Perform the On-site electronic system engineers responsibilities at customer site
  • Prepares and participates in formal technical discussions and reviews with customers.
  • Be copied on all technical correspondences that go to the customer. Approve technical information discussions with the Customer.

  • Coordinate and ensure proper product specification generation.

  • Utilize leadership skills to direct team members and to resolve issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met
  • Provide timely and accurate information and status updates
  • Establish, plan, and meet project objectives; evaluating and communicating risks, and developing contingency plans

  • Coordinate and ensure proper product specification generation.
  • Ensure that the Organization requirement management strategy is being followed within project team. This includes spec compliance matrices, corporate use of tools.

  • Determines the customer requirements for new products and reports information to STRATTEC personnel (Technical, Sales, Manufacturing)
  • Secondary to execution of awarded project: identifies target opportunities and platforms for Company products, identifies key decision makers within customer engineering organization, and develops and/or maintains relationships with these key decision makers.
  • Secondary to execution of awarded project: identifies customer and technology trends within the customer and communicates these to STRATTEC personnel.
  • Works with internal and suppliers engineering resources to develop new technology and solutions for customer and negotiates specifications for products.
  • Develops system and product concepts directly with customer.
  • Facilitates cost request/quoting process for new product and system developments.
  • Troubleshoots and helps resolve system issues during development.
  • Performs hardware bench and vehicle testing to support design decisions and problem resolution.
  • Performs hardware and software analyses on electronic assemblies.
  • Defines the electronic controller architecture, allocate hardware and software requirements.
  • Diagnostics and communication systems (CAN LIN/K-Bus, flashing via bus) required.
  • Maintains close and strong relations with key customer personnel

Qualifications

  • BSEE required.
  • Minimum of 5 year experience working with multiple OEMs and/or major electronic organizaions
  • Wireless experience is strongly preferred
  • Mechanical understanding/aptitude is required.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with limited face-to-face supervision
  • Must have excellent communication skills in both written and oral, formal and informal.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to interact with engineering, sales, purchasing, and manufacturing personnel both internally and externally.
  • Must be able to work in a global environment.
  • Must be willing to travel domestically and globally although it will be limited.
