Responsibilities

SUMMARY:

Examines and assesses the Inventory and transactions accuracy in the Company Information System (MRP/ERP), and leads the Coordination and Implementation of improved Inventory control practices and Continuous Improvements Projects.

 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

            This position main responsibility is to maintain high levels of Inventory Accuracy, good transactional practices, and a documented verification System in place, that meets both, Internal and External Audit standards, and initiates Process Improvement Projects to reduce Variation or Cost.

  • Daily audits of Inventory records and transactions
  • Daily review of Inventory and Variances reports, to identify root causes and propose permanent fixes
  • Ensures Inventory adjustments are properly authorized and approved by the right levels, and maintains adequate files for Auditing purposes
  • Communicates discrepancies created by the Plants, for prompt resolution
  • Manages the Cycle Counting Program, and defines Practices & Procedures, to meet Audit processes (Financial/SOX Audits)
  • Supports training of new employees as needed to guarantee transactional integrity
  • Leads with the Warehouse Supervisor the Annual Physical Inventory
  • Ensures Inventory adjustments are properly authorized and approved by the right levels, and maintains adequate files for Auditing purposes
  • Works with CSR’s and the Plants’ Materials teams, to Perform Inventory aging analysis, and prepare proposals for Obsolete Material disposition
  • Drive Process Improvements efforts to reduce Processes Variation
  • Prepares layout proposals, figures flow of work to drive productivity up, makes statistical studies, and analyzes costs
  • Prepares Processes Value Stream Maps to identify improvement opportunities, elaborates diagrams to illustrate routing, floor layouts, and implements material handling best practices
  • Observes workers operating equipment or performing tasks to determine better methods, time reduction, fatigue rates, and elimination of waste
  • Recommends revisions of methods of Operation or material handling, to bring productivity improvements
  • Studies and records time, motions, method, and speed involved in performing production, clerical, and other worker operations to establish standard production rates and improve efficiency
  • Error prevention (Poka-Yoke implementation), containment, and resolution. Able to use problem solving techniques (5Whys, 8D, Pareto, Ishikawa, etc.) and able to identify common and special causes
  • Able to manage multiple projects/Time management skills/Effectively communicate issues and implement solutions.
  • Attends regularly scheduled team meetings, and participates or leads Problem Solving sessions.
  • Audits Procedures /Work Instructions periodically, to ensure they are followed or modified when necessary to adapt improved practices and simplicity
  • Working knowledge of the Company Quality Systems (ISO, QS9000, TS16949, etc.)
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and lead task forces and Kaizen events to improve current state
  • Serves as a Training and Support Resource for Process related issues
  • Any other job related tasks as deemed necessary by his/her Supervisor

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position oversees the Cycle counters daily activities. It may sporadically direct other individuals to perform specific functions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Candidate should have 3 years of experience in similar position. College degree or Associate's degree with 3 years experience, with concentration in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management, or comparable combination of Education and Work Experience. Candidate must be a strong Microsoft user, with Strong Excel skills to manage large data files and convert it into meaningful information.

Green Belt training and APICS CPIM Training preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Bilingual preferred. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret large data files, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals with minimum supervision. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and perform numerical analysis, basic Statistical analysis, FMEA, Process sheets, and basic Six-Sigma concepts, percentages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and financial functions. Interpret extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or process diagram form.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Able to work with structured Problem Solving techniques, Process flow, and understand basic Lean Manufacturing concepts.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

APICS Supply Chain Management training, Lean Manufacturing, Poka-Yoke, Kaizen events, Time and Motion studies, Value Stream Mapping, Basic Quality Tools, and Six Sigma Training recommended
