The Safety Intern position will provide administrative, project, and safety training support to the Safety Department on a flexible part time to full time basis during the school year and summer months.  Projects and responsibilities will be completed with the assistance, support, and supervision of the Safety Engineer.



Job Duties:

  • Creation, maintenance, and placement of lock-out/tag-out procedures on the manufacturing floor at each machine or machine group.
  • Conduct safety inspections and develop Job Safety Analysis.
  • Audit safe work practices and procedures.
  • Review new machine installations.
  • Implementation of a safety management software system.
  • Developing and/or delivering safety training.
  • Conduct accident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
  • File records and enter data.
  • Assist with other projects as needed.
  • To assist in implementation and the placement of "lock-out/tag-out" procedures on the manufacturing floor at each machine or machine group. 
  • Will assist Maintenance and Facilities groups with other projects. 













  • Enrolled in a Four-Year degree program for Occupational Safety, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering with current status of at least a junior level.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with small and large groups.
  • Administrative skills (filing, organization, etc).
  • Basic knowledge of Safety concepts and OSHA Standards.
  • Must have good computer skills, organizational skills to print, laminate, place procedures out on the production floor. 
  • Previous experience or knowledge of lock-out/tag-out rules and experience with AutoCad is a plus.
