  • Responsibilities

    • With direction from Product Engineer, creates and modifies parts models and detailed drawings of electro mechanical components and assemblies.
    • Designs and develops future product concepts.
    • Creates and modifies models and production prints per SSC standards and customer requirements.
    • Assists Engineer in design analysis.
    • Participates in design review meetings.
    • Participates in problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
    • Design for manufacturability suitable to part production process (die casting, injection modeling, powdered metal, etc.)
    • Works concurrently with tool design group and/or purchase part vendors as required during part design process to insure manufacturability.
    • Proactively offers potential design solutions.
    • Assists in procurement of prototypes as directed by the Engineer.
    • Performs tolerance stackups as required.

     

    Qualifications

    SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Must be self motivated
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills
    • Able to interact with Engineering, Sales and Program Business Managers
    • Must be computer literate, specifically Pro/E
    • Must be able to conceptualize, plan and design mechanical devices.
    • Able to create engineering prints.
    • Ability to multi-task, plan and organize required.
    • Experience with DFMEA, tolerance studies and FEA preferred.
    • Snap features Design Experience
    • Assist with PLM and Data control
    • Automotive security Experience

     

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

     

    • Technical Associate Degree in Design / Drafting (2 yr. A.A.S.)
    • 2-5 Years experience in CAD modeling
    • Experience in the design of snap features design required.
    • Must have a working knowledge of Pro-E /Wildfire
